Your generosity means more than words can express, and it is making a lasting impact on my students and our learning environment. Because of your kindness, my students will have the opportunity to experience hands-on learning in a way that is exciting, engaging, and meaningful.\r\n\r\nSecond graders are naturally curious, creative, and eager to explore the world around them. They ask questions, imagine big ideas, and love discovering how things work. A 3D printer gives them the chance to take those ideas and turn them into something real. Instead of only reading about science, engineering, or problem-solving, they can now design, create, and test their own projects right in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThis technology will support learning across many subjects. In math, students can build shapes, explore measurement, and better understand geometry concepts. In science, they can create models of plants, animals, habitats, or life cycles. During STEM lessons, they can work together to solve challenges, design solutions, and practice important critical thinking skills. In writing, students can even create story characters or objects that connect to their reading and imagination.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting parts of having a 3D printer is the confidence it builds in students. When children see their own ideas come to life, they begin to believe in themselves as creators, inventors, and problem-solvers. They learn that mistakes are part of learning and that perseverance leads to success. These are lessons that will stay with them far beyond second grade.\r\n\r\nMany of my students may not have access to this type of technology outside of school. Your donation helps bridge that gap and gives every child an equal chance to learn with tools that prepare them for the future. It creates opportunities for students to experience innovation, teamwork, and real-world learning in a safe and supportive classroom environment.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, there is nothing better than watching students light up with excitement when they discover something new. Because of your support, I know there will be many of those moments ahead. You are not just providing a classroom tool—you are inspiring curiosity, encouraging creativity, and helping shape future thinkers and leaders.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and in the power of education. Your generosity is helping create a classroom where learning feels exciting and possibilities feel endless. We are so grateful for your support, and we will think of your kindness each time we use this amazing new resource. Your gift truly makes a difference every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1768443672547,"projectUrl":"project/design-it-print-it-learn-it/10007502/","projectTitle":"“Design It. Print It. Math board games promote joyful practice while strengthening skills such as counting, addition, subtraction, and strategic thinking, all while encouraging collaboration, turn-taking, and math talk. Magnetic ten frames help students visually organize quantities, build number sense, and develop fluency with composing and decomposing numbers, especially during whole-group and small-group instruction. Magnetic base-10 blocks make place value concepts concrete by allowing students to physically build numbers, compare values, and model regrouping in a clear, visual way. Together, these tools increase student engagement, support diverse learning styles, and help students move from concrete understanding to abstract mathematical thinking with confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1767808176906,"projectUrl":"project/playful-math-powerful-learning/9735597/","projectTitle":"Playful Math, Powerful Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Doyle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1187099_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683760682944","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-jdoyle"},{"teacherId":1187099,"projectId":9846423,"letterContent":"The 3D printer has greatly enhanced our classroom by making learning more hands-on, engaging, and concrete. With 3D-printed math manipulatives—including base 10 blocks, counters, Montessori-style number cubes, graphing tools, and equality models—students can physically build and show their thinking, which deepens number sense and understanding of place value, comparison, and problem solving. These tools make abstract math concepts accessible for all learners, especially those who benefit from tactile experiences. In addition, printing national monument models has enriched our social studies instruction by allowing students to explore landmarks in a tangible way, sparking curiosity and meaningful discussions. Overall, the 3D printer has increased student motivation, supported diverse learning styles, and transformed lessons into interactive experiences that promote deeper understanding across subjects.","fullyFundedDate":1761955870775,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printer/9846423/","projectTitle":"3D Printer","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Doyle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1187099_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683760682944","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-jdoyle"},{"teacherId":8285043,"projectId":9770283,"letterContent":"Students have really loved using the large whiteboards as part of ourLearning Thinking Classroom. The open space invites everyone to jump in, share ideas, and make their thinking visible. It feels less formal than paper, which lowers the pressure and encourages more risk-taking.\r\n\r\nWorking at the boards naturally pushes students to collaborate. They talk through strategies, question each other's reasoning, and build on ideas in real time. Because the work is public and shared, no one can quietly check out—everyone has a role.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboards also make learning feel more active and engaging.
