They actually cheered when they saw them—and now, every single day, I hear, \"Can we use the whiteboards today?\"\r\n\r\nThese boards have become the heart of our classroom. Students gather around them to solve problems, brainstorm ideas, and share their thinking. It's amazing to see how naturally they've learned to collaborate—taking turns writing, explaining their reasoning, and even learning how to disagree respectfully. What used to be quiet work at desks has turned into energetic, thoughtful discussions where every voice matters.","fullyFundedDate":1757542936835,"projectUrl":"project/building-thinking-classroom/9646477/","projectTitle":"Building Thinking Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Doyle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1187099_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683760682944","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-jdoyle"},{"teacherId":557403,"projectId":8713207,"letterContent":"The books that you provided have made a huge difference for my students. Many students have read books for the first time in their lives, thanks to your generosity. These books allowed the students to compete in the Battle of the Books program. To compete, students formed their own groups. Each group created a team name and chose a captain (the spokesperson during the competition). As a group, students decided who read which of the 20 books required for the competition. Students read their chosen books to become experts on them for their team. When the battles begin in March, groups will compete against each other, much like March Madness brackets in college basketball. As teams win the battles, they move up the bracket to battle other teams that have won, until there is a final winner for the grade. Winners get medals and bragging rights. The competition adds a layer of fun to motivate more students to read books. \r\nI love the program, but it is difficult to provide enough copies of 20 different books so that all of my students have the books they chose to read. Since we are a Title 1 school, many of my students aren't able to buy their own copies of the books. Your generous support has allowed all of my students to have the books they need to participate, despite funding limitations. You have made a huge difference to my students. I appreciate all you have done to help them participate in this program.","fullyFundedDate":1726285155804,"projectUrl":"project/battle-of-the-books-competition/8713207/","projectTitle":"Battle of the Books Competition","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Cooke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp557403_orig.jpg?crop=2328,2328,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736048861960","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/557403"},{"teacherId":3526102,"projectId":7565894,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donations toward my classroom essential supplies. Having a high quality classroom library allows students more choice, varying reading levels, and more topics and genres to choose from. \r\n\r\nOur classroom library is an exciting place to be.
