The Items I am requesting can be put to immediate use. My supply of dry erase markers and erasers are nearly gone. Our whiteboards have seen a lot of wear and tear over the years. With Boogie boards our practice activities in writing and drawing, spelling, and reading can be unlimited not just this year but in future years. Students have come to school with underdeveloped fine motor skills as television and gaming have become the choice for free-time activities. Many students have spent these COVID years being entertained by television and tablets as their parents have worked at home or where daycare has been unavailable. I am so excited to save paper, ink, and the mess of whiteboards and markers. The students will love it too! The touch and read phonics kits will help us with our basic reading skills as well as build fluency speed in tracking those sounds across the pages of books. Students will be able to use three of their five senses--touch, sight, and hearing to embed the phonological skills required to be a good reader while increasing engagement in the process of learning.
