We serve students from all walks of life, and the majority are emerging bilingual students. Receiving the Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs has been a game changer for our alphabet routine! Students are able to make real world connections through hands-on manipulatives instead of simply relying on picture flashcards. Now when we are introducing or reviewing a letter of the alphabet, we pull out our \"Alphabet Soup Cans\" as we like to call them and make predictions on what we will find inside. The students sit in a circle on the carpet and wait with anticipation for the big reveal. Learning the letters and their sounds in exciting stuff in the pre-k world! We open up the tub of the letter we are learning and pass around the objects inside. That instant connection of a letter sound to a real-life object has greatly impacted our young learners. We have seen growth not only in their alphabet knowledge, but their vocabulary and language acquisition skills as they describe the objects as they pass them around. The teaching tubs are also a wonderful resource for small groups and centers. I can easily create games and activities that are highly engaging and allow students to practice the skills we've learned during whole group.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, storage space is always at a premium in a pre-k classroom so having the storage rack for the teaching tubs is very much appreciated. It allows me to keep all the tubs neatly organized and stored away until we are ready to use them. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity that allowed us this opportunity of enrichment for our little learners! It has become a fun routine that helps them practice thinking, problem-solving, and patience. During dismissal time, students from other classes also get a chance to play, which makes it a nice way for more students to enjoy the game.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printed items have also been very motivating for my students. They get excited to see new creations, and it has really helped increase their participation in class. One of our favorite traditions is giving our 4th grade students a small 3D printed dinosaur pencil holder on their birthdays. The students have been able to use the crayons and colored pencils to add color to their notes and projects. This helps them better internalize and understand the topics that we are covering. The tissues have been a great help with allowing students to stay in the classroom instead of leaving to get tissues. They are getting us through this cold and flu season. \r\n\r\nThe students have been enjoying printing and seeing all the different colored filament that we now have. They love seeing how the different prints turn out.
