Learning through play is a crucial part of Pre-K. Though it may look like just imaginative play from the outside, students are developing essential social and language skills. Having a dramatic play kitchen made of quality, long lasting materials would help us better serve our pre-k students for generations to come. Through dramatic play, students are learning to share, take turns, cooperate and problem solve. The ability of verbally communicating with their peers is the gateway to developing these social skills. Encouraging communication is of the utmost importance to all pre-k students- especially to our large population of English Language Learners. By creating an engaging dramatic play center (with all the students' favorite- a play kitchen), students will have the opportunity to practice their social and communication skills in an environment that feels comfortable and most of all fun!
