Because of your generosity, my students now have access to many small sensory tools! These simple items have already made a meaningful difference in how my students learn and engage throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nMany students, especially at the upper elementary level, need opportunities to move or keep their hands busy in order to stay focused. The sensory tools you provided give students a safe and appropriate outlet for that movement. Instead of tapping desks, fidgeting with classroom materials, or becoming distracted, students can quietly squeeze a squishy ball, stretch slime, or manipulate Play-Doh while listening, thinking, or working through a challenging task.\r\n\r\nThese tools have been especially helpful during lessons that require sustained attention, such as reading comprehension, writing, and problem solving in math. When students have something small to manipulate with their hands, it often helps regulate their energy and allows them to stay engaged in the lesson for longer periods of time. I have noticed that students who previously struggled to sit through instruction are now able to remain present and participate more consistently.\r\n\r\nThe pencil toppers and mochis have also helped students channel nervous energy during independent work and assessments. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, students have a small tool that helps them calm their bodies and refocus their minds. This creates a more positive and productive learning environment for everyone in the room.\r\n\r\nBeyond focus, these tools also help students develop self-awareness and self-regulation. They are learning that different strategies can help their brains work better, and they are beginning to identify what helps them stay calm, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1766500266376,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-movement/9682531/","projectTitle":"Learning with Movement","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stanley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6734168_orig.jpg?crop=1045,1045,x0,y20&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566343855298","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6734168"},{"teacherId":6734168,"projectId":9675113,"letterContent":"I was so excited to receive these Rocket books for my classroom! Integrating these reusable notebooks into daily instruction has significantly improved student engagement, organization, and responsibility while also supporting environmentally friendly classroom practices.\r\n\r\nFirst and foremost, Rocket books have increased student motivation to write and take notes. Many 5th graders struggle with writing stamina or become discouraged by mistakes. Because Rocket books allow students to erase and rewrite easily, students feel more comfortable taking risks in their learning. They are more willing to attempt difficult math problems, brainstorm writing ideas, and revise their work without the frustration of starting over on a new page.\r\n\r\nRocket books have also helped students develop stronger organizational and study skills. Using the Rocket book app, students can quickly scan and save their notes to digital folders. This allows them to revisit their work later, share assignments when needed, and keep track of their learning over time. For many students, especially those who struggle with keeping track of papers, this has reduced lost work and improved accountability. I can also share with parents electronically when they are curious as to what their students are working on! \r\n\r\nAdditionally, Rocket books support collaboration and flexible learning. Students can draft ideas, solve problems, and share their thinking with peers quickly. Teachers can also easily review student work digitally, which helps provide quicker feedback and supports differentiated instruction. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for this amazing donation!","fullyFundedDate":1767258528244,"projectUrl":"project/launching-learning-with-rocketbooks/9675113/","projectTitle":"Launching Learning with Rocketbooks!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stanley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6734168_orig.jpg?crop=1045,1045,x0,y20&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566343855298","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6734168"},{"teacherId":7767991,"projectId":9581768,"letterContent":"The items to this project came at the very beginning part of the year and I have fortunate to use a lot of them. For instance, the Sequence & Write Story Tiles have been helpful in a small group with English Language Learners. One of the objectives that 1st and 2nd graders have to accomplish is to look at pictures and write a sequential story. So this has been one more way for them to practice. The Language Skills games has also come in clutch for reinforcing remedial skills for my lower level learners.\r\n\r\nAs always, I love adding new books to my classroom library collection. The non-fiction animal books have been really popular too!","fullyFundedDate":1755876750453,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-literacy-in-a-12-blend/9581768/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Literacy in a 1/2 Blend","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Peters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7767991_orig.png?crop=396,396,x0,y1&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1614725067235","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7767991"},{"teacherId":7767991,"projectId":9304567,"letterContent":"Thanks to generous donors, this project got funded just after the school year ended. However, given past years, students are always so stoked about new books, materials and resources!\r\n\r\nI think students (and myself) will be really excited to try out the new dry erase clipboards. Earlier this year, our class was reading some books written by Andrea Beaty to help supplement word meanings/phrases. These texts were so great for whole group reading and the students LOVED them so much, I wanted to get the whole collection from this author!\r\n\r\nReading in my 2nd grade classroom starts off with reading rotations where students either read to self, meet with the teacher, catch up on writing or go to a literacy app on their chromebook. Then we transition to whole group reading and we focus on a reading standard.\r\n\r\nMy students are also pretty stoked about the new Cat Problems and Giraffe Problems books.
