We've been using the materials daily, and they have already made a meaningful difference in how my students learn and participate.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to play an essential role in our current lessons and upcoming projects. Right now, students will use these materials to create a project about their families. With your support, they can dive deeper, collaborate more effectively, and take pride in the work they produce. I'm excited to see how much more they will grow now that they have what they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom. These magazines are current, teen-centered and engaging to our HMS readers. They are being used for whole class, shared experiences; small group instruction and also individual use when a student just wants to read.\r\n\r\nScope is a great magazine that I have been using for over 20 years and I am so happy to have it back in circulation at HMS. It is filled with plays that students can read aloud together, poems to analyze, debatable topics to be considered and argued, and much, much more. We were excited that this year's first issue included articles about current events, such as the floods in North Carolina, a debate about what to do if you found $100 on the ground (would you keep it?), bringing back the dire wolf, and more. \r\n\r\nThanks again! We are into the second month of school and our students are using all the materials. These materials provide ways for students to be organized and creative with their reading and writing. The printer especially helps because we can print work in color now! \r\n\r\nThe binders are for students who do not have access to all the materials requested for school. This takes the pressure off of not having all that you need and allows teachers to provide for their class. Some of bulk drawing paper will be used this month when students read Jason Reynold's novel named Ghost. They will be creating one pagers that showcase literary techniques and themes in the novel. That bigger paper will also be used throughout the year to allow students to show learning in colorful, creative ways. The colored paper is the same. Sometimes, you just need a little color in your life. The post its are used in the texts and notebooks to track thinking about characters, themes, conflicts and more. Again, a supply that we want to supply to take the pressure of parents who are unable to buy these supplies.
