These microscopes will provide the students with the correct tools to learn about organisms and cellular components which are invisible to the naked eye. Through investigation and observation models, the students in sixth grade learn about everything from cellular biology to water quality thresholds for the state of California. These microscopes are a small way to expand the visible world at a time when students are also developmentally broadening their perspective. In partnership with our various lab visit experiences, students will practice fieldwork throughout the year with samples that create relevant, 21st century skills in their inquiry. Having the appropriate tools to help support this inquiry is critical to bringing middle school students to the next plateau in their education.
