We use our Magna tiles to build and create during Math and STEM blocks. The puzzles have become our go-to \"morning bins,\" helping students settle in and sharpen their spatial reasoning skills before we get the day started.\r\n\r\nThe clipboards have freed us from our desks. Our students use some of them as fidgets to meet sensory needs or as part of calming strategies during times of dysregulation. Our group of 3rd graders loved using the various textured balls, visual lava toys, and magnetic toys during their weekly group sessions to manage impulsiveness. \r\n\r\nMany of these supplies focus on our early childhood group and allow them equal access to the educational environment in sensory-friendly ways. They also challenge themselves to practice reading so that they can eventually read to the class (which is a highlight for them). I also provide them with the opportunity to read to stuffed animals (the elephant and piggie stuffed animal is a big hit). It is absolutely amazing to watch their eyes light up with enjoyment from reading. We were also able to use their reading material to write about and add those writing pieces to their end-of-the-year portfolio.
