These items offered more than just comfort, they help reduce stress, improve focus, and create a sense of safety and support during the school day. For many students, having access to journals, fidgets, and snacks to fill their bellies has made it easier to manage anxiety, stay engaged in learning, and feel cared for during challenging moments.\r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your support and belief in our students. This new equipment is already making a huge impact on our students' work. Getting specific with the materials, the pug attachment allows us to reclaim and recycle all of our clay scraps from pottery projects. This not only saves our class a significant amount of money on materials but, more importantly, it teaches the students valuable lessons about sustainability and resource management in the arts.\r\n\r\nThis experience has truly grown our skills and our understanding of the ceramic arts. The process of passing the state reading exam or equivalent exam, can be a challenging and sometimes, frustrating task for many struggling readers. The snacks donated provided much needed positive, meaningful motivation for my students. Since the beginning of this school year, I have had 23 students earn their graduation requirement! That means 40% of my 11th grade students are now back on track for their 2027 graduation date! In addition to this 40% pass rate, I have had another 15 students that made substantial gains toward the needed passing score!\r\n Concerning my 10th grade students in English 2 Intensive Reading, the donated art supplies were integral in the design and completion of their One Pager Projects to demonstrate their understanding of our class novel, Night, by Elie Wiesel. A One Pager is a one-page project that allows the students to creatively demonstrate their learning through art, literary analysis and symbolism. Their completed projects showed me they understood the overarching key elements of the novel, while giving them the opportunity to showcase their \"Out of the Box\" thinking. \r\nWe cannot express enough how much your support means to us. Without donors like you, these accomplishments would not be possible. Your involvement has directly contributed to fostering a stronger, healthier learning journey for these students.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and commitment to our classes.","fullyFundedDate":1762391109583,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-howells-super-sharks/9589919/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Howell's Super Sharks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Howell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10175180"},{"teacherId":10177299,"projectId":9596041,"letterContent":"I am so appreciative of your generosity in funding \"The Thinking Game: Boosting Logic One Move at a Time.\" When the Carcassonne board games arrived, my students and I immediately reviewed the rules and formed groups of 3 to 5 students and played twice in the first two weeks! The fact that I had multiple Carcassonne games allowed everyone to participate. The students can now finish the game in 30 minutes and use logic for some advanced moves in the game. They are really becoming pros with in how to place the meeples on the board and how to use the abbot to maximize points.\r\n\r\nThe experience has reinforced the belief that games in the classroom setting really can inject fun into the lesson while at the same time improving logic skills. When I greet a student before class, and one says, \"Can we play Carcassonne?\", I know it has impacted them in a most positive way. Even a couple teachers asked me about the game because students had mentioned it to them.\r\n\r\nYour kindness not only touched nearly one hundred students but has also impacted other teachers and me regarding the integration of games in the classroom setting. With the right tools—such as notebooks, pens, calculators, and organizational materials—students are better equipped to engage in learning, complete assignments, and stay focused in class. School supplies help foster a sense of preparedness and confidence, allowing students to take ownership of their education. For many, especially those from under-resourced communities, receiving school supplies can mean the difference between falling behind and thriving academically.
