This book is about a boy named Mark who has cancer but runs away from home. He leaves everything behind but a duffel bag and his dog beau. Mark is a very smart kid but it ends up to get him in a lot of trouble. His life goal before he dies is to climb Mt. Rainier. This book is a very emotional story and will make you fall in love with the characters. The main character of the story undergoes many struggles and continues to persevere and chooses to never give up. This story easily creates a connection with young readers, especially struggling readers who often choose to give up when things prove to be too difficult! Students have begged to keep reading when class is over because they simply can't get enough of this AMAZING novel!!
