During our reading time, students now spread out comfortably, choosing the best seating that helps them focus. I've noticed that even my most restless students can sit longer and engage more deeply with their work. I have begun using the Building Thinking Classrooms teaching practices for teaching math. My students work together in groups of 2 or 3 to solve math problems on vertical whiteboards. Based on studies conducted by Peter Liljedahl, vertical non-permanent surfaces are the best place for students to work on for math. Due to your donation, I now have enough vertical whiteboards for 27 students. Watching my students become confident in their math abilities has been amazing.
