Wonder helps students learn to deal with differences and also how to look past the outside of a person. It teaches empathy and how to deal with difficult circumstances, especially during distance learning which will make a difference in all my students. They will start their own journal writing with journal prompts to help guide them through the unit and free writing so they can express themselves in an other ways. Students will also practice analyzing literature, making predictions, and supporting their thoughts with evidence from the text. At the end of the unit, students will create a collage of images that represent themselves and write a 5 paragraph essay creating their own story relating to the collage.
