Many of our students require direct assistance with meals, and it is our responsibility to ensure that this support is provided in the safest and most hygienic manner possible. Access to gloves is a critical resource that allows staff to maintain proper sanitation practices, protect students from potential exposure to germs, and promote overall health.\r\n\r\nThe availability of gloves not only safeguards students during mealtimes but also provides staff with the necessary tools to confidently assist in daily care routines. This reduces the risk of cross-contamination, minimizes the spread of illness, and creates a healthier learning environment where students are able to remain present and engaged. In turn, this contributes to increased instructional time and greater consistency in student progress, as fewer absences occur due to preventable illnesses.\r\n\r\nBy maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, we are able to focus more fully on our primary mission: supporting student growth, development, and independence. Your support of this need ensures that both staff and students are protected, reinforcing the foundation for a secure and nurturing classroom community.","fullyFundedDate":1733349746138,"projectUrl":"project/a-safe-and-healthy-classroom/8668473/","projectTitle":"A Safe and Healthy Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Del Palacio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4554563_orig.jpg?crop=810,810,x0,y270&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1564613875439","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4554563"},{"teacherId":4554563,"projectId":7739320,"letterContent":"The materials provided through generous donors like yourself, have had a direct and meaningful impact on student learning in our classroom. We utilize them primarily during small group instruction, where individualized attention allows us to target specific student goals. Many of the activities implemented are errorless learning tasks, which promote student confidence and ensure repeated success. We also incorporate hands-on activities that align with seasonal themes and holidays, which increases student engagement and provides natural opportunities for skill generalization.\r\n\r\nThese materials support a wide range of developmental goals, including communication, fine motor skills, color and shape recognition, and early literacy and numeracy concepts. For many of my students, who are non-verbal or emerging communicators, the tactile and visual nature of these activities provides an accessible pathway to demonstrate knowledge and build new skills.\r\n\r\nAs a result of these resources, students consistently demonstrate higher levels of participation, engagement, and independence during structured learning tasks. Data collected during small groups shows measurable progress toward IEP goals, particularly in the areas of communication and social interaction. Additionally, the rotation of new activities maintains student motivation, reducing task avoidance and increasing time on task.\r\n\r\nThe continued availability of these materials ensures that instruction can remain differentiated, engaging, and developmentally appropriate, ultimately fostering both academic and social growth for all learners in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1696267498124,"projectUrl":"project/small-group-supplies/7739320/","projectTitle":"Small Group Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Del Palacio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4554563_orig.jpg?crop=810,810,x0,y270&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1564613875439","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4554563"},{"teacherId":4554563,"projectId":7713402,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to explore the wooden vehicles, magnet monsters, and of course, Mr. Potato Head! The magnet monsters have been especially helpful for practicing color matching and body part identification in such a fun and engaging way. Mr. Potato Head and all of his accessories have been a huge hit—we've even created Mrs. Potato Head, a baby potato head, and more. He has also been a wonderful resource for building vocabulary skills with my students. While many are non-verbal, that doesn't mean they don't recognize and understand the items. This has been such a meaningful and playful way to access and strengthen those skills.","fullyFundedDate":1695742716097,"projectUrl":"project/playtime-fun/7713402/","projectTitle":"Playtime Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Del Palacio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4554563_orig.jpg?crop=810,810,x0,y270&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1564613875439","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4554563"},{"teacherId":7736032,"projectId":9235936,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to start the school year.
