These yoga balls have already made a huge difference for my students. Instead of sitting in traditional chairs all day, students now have the option to sit on a yoga ball while they work, read, and participate in lessons. The movement and balance required to sit on the balls helps many of my students stay focused and engaged. One moment that really stood out was during a reading block when several students who typically struggle to stay seated were calmly bouncing slightly while reading and discussing the story with their partners. It was wonderful to see them comfortable, focused, and excited about learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the yoga balls first arrived, the classroom was filled with excitement. Students' eyes lit up when they saw them, and there were lots of smiles and happy whispers as we talked about how they would help us learn while moving our bodies. After we practiced how to use them safely, students quickly settled in and began using them during our lessons. Many of them immediately commented on how comfortable they felt and how much easier it was to focus.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these yoga balls will continue to support our classroom in many ways. They are especially helpful during longer learning periods like reading, writing, and math because students are able to move while still staying engaged in their work. The balls are already helping create a more flexible, comfortable learning environment where students can focus and do their best thinking. Your generosity has helped make our classroom a place where students feel supported, energized, and ready to learn. Thank you again for making this possible for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1765493455144,"projectUrl":"project/bouncing-toward-better-focus/9949514/","projectTitle":"Bouncing Toward Better Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Stinsolotti","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1431090_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1685248542447","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1431090"},{"teacherId":5780278,"projectId":9536681,"letterContent":"Mrs. McMaster, my class is in extreme gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful gift of a brand new class set of Charlotte's Web. Not only did we get to experience the giddy of unboxing a book package from a former Gator Educator (Edugator) who believes in the power of reading, but we are also getting to experience what it's like to flip crisp pages in a new book!\r\n\r\nCurrently my class is halfway through Charlotte's Web. Our goal this year in 4th and 5th grade is learning and practicing the lost art of chapter summaries. We are learning what it means to synthesize and retell just the main ideas of each chapter, and how the titles of each can help us in this process. So a HUGE THANK YOU for helping this come into fruition for us. \r\n\r\nOf course we will end our novel study comparing the book and movie, but we all know only the best of books make it to film. :)","fullyFundedDate":1763581127135,"projectUrl":"project/get-us-caught-in-the-web-of-reading/9536681/","projectTitle":"Get Us Caught in the Web of Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5780278_orig.png?crop=240,240,x0,y38&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754346640507","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5780278"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49552","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":477,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":73,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"25.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.1,"schoolId":49552,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Glenwood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Glenwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/robla-elementary-school-district/glenwood-elementary-school/49552"}
