I specifically chose collections of books that celebrate Spanish literature in young readers, as well as celebrate famous bilingual author Alma Flor Ada. We all need a strong role model to inspire us! These collections of books will hopefully nurture an authentic interest in Spanish literature and their own literacy development. (Maybe they too can become famous authors!) As these books will form part of the growing Dual Immersion program, there are plenty more years and even many more students they can inspire. In future years, the classroom library can be a powerful tool to escape the traditional language arts curriculum and truly immerse ourselves in good books!
