They often approach our literacy time immediately asking, \"Should we get our tiles now?\" If my response is, \"not yet\" I am often met with groans of disappointment. When we are using our tiles, all students are engaged, having fun, and focused. \r\n Because students' engagement and excitement for working with our new letter has increased their desire to practice their skills, their phonemic awareness is increasing! Students' confidence has increased dramatically when transferring their knowledge of the phonemes to the corresponding graphemes. Students are working hard each week using the letter tiles to build words that recap the weekly new concept being taught.\r\n Your thoughtfulness and willingness to help me help my students is beyond gracious and selfless and it is greatly appreciated. Your donation to this project has allowed me to get much need manipulatives into the hands of my sweet wonderful students. Because of your donations, my students began the school year with an abundance of cardstock and coloring supplies that have already been put to great use. During these first few weeks of fourth grade, we have used these materials for a variety of academic activities as well as team-building experiences designed to help students get to know one another and feel connected to our classroom community. Having quality supplies readily available has allowed students to be creative, take pride in their work, and make our learning activities a little more engaging and memorable.\r\n\r\nThe beginning of a new school year is such an important time for establishing routines, building relationships, and helping students feel that our classroom is a place where they belong. Your generosity has helped make that possible. What may seem like simple supplies—paper, markers, colored pencils, and other coloring materials—quickly become tools for learning, creativity, collaboration, and connection in the hands of students.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful that you chose to invest in my students and our classroom. Teachers have many ideas for making learning meaningful and exciting, but those ideas often require resources to bring them to life. Your support has helped turn some of those ideas into experiences for my students, and we will continue using these supplies throughout the school year.
