The excitement on the students' faces each week was priceless. Every week on Monday, the students vote for a classmate who has followed the classroom rules, worked hard and was kind to his/her classmates. They were required to write why they votes for the person as our VIP for the week. I would read each vote and response aloud. The student with the most votes got to sit at the special desk with the special chair. As well as use all the fun materials (pens, scented highlighters, etc.) I can't wait for the start of the new school year to implement this again!
