From drama club rehearsals to talent show performances and instrumental music lessons, our stage is constantly in use—and the clutter of music stands had become a safety hazard and a constant source of frustration. This simple addition brought immediate organization and efficiency, creating a much cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for all.\r\n\r\nOur instrumental music teachers, who only visit once a week, were especially pleased by this thoughtful upgrade. They no longer have to spend precious teaching time untangling stands or clearing a path to set up. Now, the cart keeps everything in place, and it's easy for students and staff to help with setup and cleanup. It has improved not only the functionality of the space but also the sense of care and collaboration across programs.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous support, our performance space now reflects the creativity and pride of the students and staff who use it. Many had never seen tools like these before, and the idea that they could use real maker tools to cut and build with cardboard created an instant buzz in the room. We've only just begun to experiment with them, starting with simple practice cuts and small construction challenges, but even in these early moments students are already discovering how much easier and more precise their work can be. One student proudly held up a perfectly cut curved shape and said, \"I've never been able to do this before!\"\r\n\r\nEven in this introductory phase, I can already see students' confidence growing. They're eager to dive into bigger, more complex ideas and keep asking when they can start building sculptures, prototypes, and cardboard inventions. Students who once hesitated to construct with cardboard are now the first to pick up the tools and explore what they can make.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include a series of hands-on projects, collaborative sculptures, wearable cardboard art, and simple prototypes, that students are already excitedly planning in their sketchbooks. My students and I have already put the table covers and tray racks to work, and they've made such a noticeable difference in our daily routines. The table covers have been especially helpful during messy painting days. Instead of spending extra time scrubbing tables and dealing with dried paint, students can quickly wipe down their workspace and transition to the next activity with ease. Clean-up has become smoother, faster, and far less stressful for everyone, which means more time spent creating and less time worrying about the mess.\r\n\r\nThe new tray racks have been a total game changer for set-up. I can prep an entire class's supplies ahead of time, store the trays neatly on the rack, and roll it right up to each table. Students love the independence of having everything they need right in front of them, and I love how much instructional time it saves. After class, I simply roll the racks back over, collect the trays, and we're ready for the next group. The wheels are an added bonus I didn't know I needed!\r\n\r\nAs we continue working on our current projects—especially those involving paint and mixed media—these organizational tools will support students in staying engaged, respecting materials, and working confidently. At the beginning of this school year, my students used the new folders and Prang markers to design and personalize their very own art folders. We talked about symbolism, color choice, pattern, and identity, and students took such pride in making something that reflected who they are as artists. When I first introduced the markers and folders, their faces lit up—they were excited to see bright, rich colors and eager to begin creating. The room buzzed with joy and focus as students sketched, planned, and proudly showed one another their designs.\r\n\r\nThe Prang markers have been wonderful additions to our art room. Students love how bold and smooth the colors are, and they've been able to use them not only on their folders, but during sketchbook warm-ups and small illustration projects. Because each folder has two pockets, students are able to keep their sketches, assessment sheets, and reference materials neatly organized right from the start of the year. This has already helped them build better work habits and feel confident about managing their own creative process.\r\n\r\nNext, my students will use these folders throughout the year to collect works-in-progress and reflection sheets for upcoming lessons on color, pattern, and storytelling through art. With color-coded lids that match each table, students are now taking greater responsibility for setup and cleanup. The system keeps water contained, brushes rinsed properly, and paint distributed neatly, making our art time smoother and more focused.\r\n\r\nBecause each table manages its own color-coded set, the paint cups have stayed remarkably clean and well-maintained.
