With the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro ISO, students have learned to switch between multiple cameras during our live broadcasts, manage transitions, and experience firsthand what happens behind the scenes in a real production control room.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is watching the students take ownership of the technology. They aren't simply watching an adult operate professional equipment—they are learning how to operate it themselves. Our production team has become more aware of camera angles, timing, cues, transitions, and what needs to happen behind the scenes while our anchors and reporters are on air. They communicate with one another during live productions, troubleshoot when something doesn't go as planned, reflect on each broadcast, and decide how they can make the next one better. Some students love being in front of the camera, while others have discovered that their place is behind it—directing, operating cameras, managing the live production, or helping tell our school's stories.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support has given our students an authentic experience that is difficult to recreate through a traditional classroom assignment. **Carver News is live, their audience is real, and every member of the team has a responsibility to the students working beside them.** They are learning that producing a successful broadcast takes preparation, communication, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and the ability to think on their feet. Watching them grow from students who use technology into young broadcasters and production crew members who understand how to use technology with purpose has been incredibly rewarding. We have incorporated the mats into our classroom routine for short mindful movement, stretching, and breathing activities. These moments give my students a chance to pause, move their bodies, take a few deep breaths, and reset before returning to their learning. We use them especially during transitions or whenever we notice that our bodies and minds need a little break. I love watching my students become more aware of how movement and breathing can help them feel calm and focused. 🌿✨\r\n\r\nThe biggest impact has been what happens after our practice. When we return to the classroom, my students are noticeably calmer, more settled, and ready to learn. They are beginning to understand that mindful movement is not just a fun activity, but a strategy they can use when they feel restless, tired, frustrated, or overwhelmed. ❤️ These practices support the social-emotional skills we are developing in our classroom while also helping us transition more smoothly into reading, writing, discussions, and other academic activities.
