Your generous gift of the PS5 has done more than add new equipment to our classroom — it has ignited hope and possibility for our students. The console has become a focal point where curiosity meets practice, and where students who once only dreamed of competing now have the tools to prepare seriously for state, regional, and national esports competitions.\r\n\r\nThe impact on our Girls Who Game and HackHers groups has been profound. These students now have a welcoming, hands-on space to learn game mechanics, collaborate on strategies, and build confidence in technology — a space where they belong and can see themselves succeeding in STEM fields. Our esports team uses the PS5 for focused training and teamwork, improving communication, strategy, and competitive readiness. That preparation translates directly into stronger performances at tournaments and a deeper belief in what they can achieve.\r\n\r\nIn our Game Art Design and 3D Modeling & Animation classes, the PS5 has become an invaluable testing and presentation tool. Students prototype, playtest, and showcase their creations on a platform that mirrors industry standards, helping them refine technical skills and artistic vision. Our esports team is excited to train on current-generation hardware, helping them sharpen skills and strategies to defend their national titles.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most is having a console that supports the newest games and software, allowing them to push creative boundaries and compete at the highest level. My students were completely in shock when they first saw the new space, excitedly exploring the comfortable seating and cozy setup. Even previous students who have since moved on kept asking, \"Why didn't you do this for us?\" It was heartwarming to see some of them remember when I shared my hope of having a couch to create space away from my desk—now that dream is a reality, and it's making a big difference.\r\n\r\nThis new seating area has quickly become a vital resource in the classroom, especially for group work, which is crucial to how we learn and collaborate. Beyond academics, this space has become a sanctuary for students with emotional needs, providing a calm and supportive environment where they can reset and feel safe. It has also served as a valuable asset for the entire school, helping children who need a quiet space to calm down during challenging moments.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue integrating this flexible seating into our daily routines, using it to enhance cooperative projects and peer discussions. Our high school exceptional children (EC) students have been using the new flexible seating to create a more supportive and personalized learning environment. Having options like wobble stools, soft chairs, and cushions has helped them manage energy, reduce stress, and stay engaged during longer class periods. One powerful moment came during a group project in English, where students analyzed a novel and worked in teams to create presentations. Instead of being confined to traditional desks, they chose seating that helped them focus and collaborate more effectively. The flexibility not only increased their participation but also gave them confidence to contribute in ways that felt comfortable for them.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first walked in and saw the new seating, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many tried out each option, quickly identifying which seats made them feel more relaxed and ready to learn. That initial sense of ownership has continued, as students now make thoughtful choices about where to sit depending on the activity. As our next step, we are beginning a research-based writing project where students will set up their own \"research stations.\" By using flexible seating, they can create a space that promotes focus and independence, helping them take greater responsibility for their learning while continuing to strengthen both academic and social skills.","fullyFundedDate":1697067869236,"projectUrl":"project/learning-in-comfort-and-style/7854726/","projectTitle":"Learning in Comfort and Style","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ellis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6932292_orig.jpg?crop=594,594,x0,y21&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1577393614382","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/michelle-ellis"},{"teacherId":8988441,"projectId":9010090,"letterContent":"We sincerely thank you for your generous support of the \"Just Hear Me Out\" initiative.
