If I could bottle up the energy and excitement of TWENTY five year olds when they received these sensory items, we could change the world with it! Just imagine squeals, clapping and shrieking! Imagine the many immediate pleas of \"Can I try it first?\" \"Is it my turn yet?\" \r\n\r\nTruly, these spinning chairs and vibration plate have added such a unique component to our classroom. Students come into our classroom every day carrying hidden stresses we know nothing about. Several of my students have diagnoses that include sensory needs. Just having these materials available to ALL my students has changed the way they respond to disregulation. They know if they just need a moment to spin on a chair or get sensory input from the vibration plate, they can just take a few minutes to do so and then are usually better equipped to rejoin classroom instruction. \r\n\r\nAs we head into our final quarter of kindergarten, we appreciate having these tools at our disposal. The kids have been so grateful and the news has spread to other classrooms that we possess these tools. We often have visitors from other classes who need an outlet and we are always happy to share our amazing tools! Thank you so much for bringing this option to our class and school!","fullyFundedDate":1760744810939,"projectUrl":"project/spinning-ourselves-to-success/9820973/","projectTitle":"Spinning Ourselves to Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bunch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3795217_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661232464682","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3795217"},{"teacherId":7056455,"projectId":9267573,"letterContent":"The addition of the Magnatiles and the Bee Bots to our library has brought such excitement to our lunch time Creation Station and our library lessons.\r\n\r\nThe Magnatiles at lunch have been very popular bringing in many new kids to try our Creation Station. Magnatiles encourage teamwork and group collaborations. Many a tall tower was built to see how high they could stretch the materials and many a house, neighborhood, village or shopping area was developed.\r\n\r\nDuring the month of December we always do lessons on coding from Hour of Code.org. This year in addition to those lessons on the computer we were able to use our BeeBots to learn how to code. We have compiled many grids to use with the coding robots that we will be able to use in future Creation Station choices or library lessons.","fullyFundedDate":1756343953523,"projectUrl":"project/putting-some-steam-in-the-library-creati/9267573/","projectTitle":"Putting Some STEAM in the Library Creation Station","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Real","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7056455"},{"teacherId":909853,"projectId":9615673,"letterContent":"You would be amazed at the engagement in learning about insect life cycles in my first-grade classroom! This project had one purpose - allowing our school to have a stock of headphones for students to use while working on their computers - taking mandated tests, working on class assignments, or using educational programs that require listening to passages and questions read and spoken to them.\r\n\r\nThe technology students use in school vary in application. All our mandated assessments are online, and many of the assessments read directions, passages, questions, etc to students depending on the content. Headphones are a necessary tool so that all students can focus on what they are individually doing, while not disrupting the other students. This same concept applies to when students are working on learning applications and programs, or even just focusing to complete essays - the headphones can help quiet disruptions common around the classroom.\r\n\r\nThese headphones are already being used! We just finished with our state-mandated testing, and many headphones from this project were used for this testing.","fullyFundedDate":1743180557277,"projectUrl":"project/i-cant-hear-it/9139277/","projectTitle":"I Can't Hear It!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gryzynger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp679439_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1500423624125","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gryzynger"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63068","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":320,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":43,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":41,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":44,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.3,"schoolId":63068,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gale Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gale Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/tucson-unified-school-district/gale-elementary-school/63068"}
