Our kinders need an incubator and other supplies to observe the life cycle of chicks as part of their science learning. After a sad experience last year, I would love to give this year's kids a better chance at seeing the wonder of chicks hatching! Last year we embarked on an exciting chick hatching journey. The kindergartners were so excited and engaged as we put our eggs in the incubator and spent several weeks learning about oviparous animals and how chicks develop in eggs. We did many activities and wrote in our journals about all the exciting things that should be happening inside our eggs. Sadly, because we were using out-dated borrowed equipment none of our eggs hatched. We were able to buy chicks and continue to learn about them, buy missed out on the most exciting part. Hatch Day! We would love to try again this year with new equipment to make Hatch Day possible this year and for many years to come.
