Some of the resources I was able to purchase have helped me create more authentic speaking practice for my students, especially with things like conversations. Speaking is the most difficult component of learning a language because it requires us to think on our feet and respond appropriately to what another person said. Our Dia De Los Muertos unit went great. Students were able to practice their writing, reading, and speaking skills while getting to take part in a unit that allowed them them to celebrate someone (or a pet) that has passed away that was important to them. \r\n\r\nThe funds provided allowed me to provide quality supplies for our class alter (see the attached pictures). This process not only gives students ownership of their work but also helps them gain valuable real-world skills in design, production, and customer service.
