Because of your kindness, my students now have access to the I Survived book series as well as headphones with microphones that have already made a meaningful difference in our daily learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe I Survived series has sparked excitement and enthusiasm for reading among my students in a way that is truly inspiring. Many of my reluctant readers are now eager to pick up a book, discuss historical events, and connect emotionally with the characters and stories. The engaging narratives have strengthened reading comprehension, encouraged thoughtful classroom discussions, and helped students build confidence as readers. I have seen students who once hesitated to read independently now asking for additional books in the series and recommending them to classmates.\r\n\r\nThe headphones with microphones have also had a tremendous impact on our classroom. They provide students with the ability to focus during independent learning activities, participate fully in online lessons and literacy programs, and practice speaking and listening skills without distractions. The microphones have been especially valuable for recording assignments, participating in interactive learning platforms, and supporting students who benefit from verbal practice and feedback. These tools have helped create a more inclusive and engaging learning experience for every student.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided more than just materials — it has created opportunities for growth, confidence, and excitement about learning. My students feel valued and supported, and I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact your donation has had on our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and their future. Students use these new resources for planning, drafting, and revising their work. The center has quickly become a space where creativity and confidence grow.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited — eager to explore the graphic organizers, writing tools, and reference guides. Their enthusiasm translated immediately into increased engagement during writing time.\r\nOne memorable moment came when a hesitant writer independently used a planning organizer from the center and went on to complete a full draft with pride. The resources are not only supporting academic skills but also fostering independence.\r\n\r\nStudents will continue using the writing center during our upcoming persuasive and research units, applying revision and organization strategies to strengthen their writing.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a lasting difference in how students experience writing.","fullyFundedDate":1763909906271,"projectUrl":"project/write-on-building-strong-writers-in-a/9919212/","projectTitle":"Write On! I teach 7th/8th grade special education math class, a self-contained special education math class, and provide intervention services for students with IEP's. The resources from this project are used daily to support student learning, emotional regulation, and sensory needs. From the moment the materials arrived, students were excited and eager to explore them. Many immediately commented on the seating options, noise-canceling headphones, and the shelf that allows them to independently access fidgets and other supports.\r\n\r\nThese materials have become an essential part of our classroom routine. Desk bouncy bands are used during instruction to help students stay focused, while fidgets and chew necklaces support students who need sensory input or help managing anxiety or overstimulation. The bean bag and adjustable floor chair provide alternative seating for students who work best outside of a traditional desk, and the noise-canceling headphones have been especially impactful for students who struggle with sensory overload. Several students now take the headphones from class to class and have shared that they are able to focus better and complete more work independently. \r\n\r\nThe Teachers Pay Teachers gift card allowed me to purchase materials for interactive math notebooks, which students use daily for vocabulary, notes, examples, and reference during independent work and assessments. These notebooks have noticeably increased student comprehension and confidence. During a recent lesson, students independently referenced their notebooks to complete multi-step problems- something many struggled to do earlier in the year. The slant board has also helped students with hand and wrist fatigue to work for longer periods of time without frustration.\r\n\r\nOverall, these resources have had a meaningful impact on student learning, classroom culture, and my own teaching. Students are more engaged, better regulated and more confident in their ability to learn. I am deeply appreciative for the generosity that made this project possible and for the lasting difference it continues to make in my students' daily school experience.","fullyFundedDate":1758837250957,"projectUrl":"project/neurodivergent-nooks-necessities/9486064/","projectTitle":"Neurodivergent Nooks & Necessities","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Farrell-Rogers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10087185_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753122392704","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10087185"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_85633","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":719,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":24,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":16,"gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":65.5,"schoolId":85633,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fostoria Junior Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fostoria Junior Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/fostoria-city-school-district/fostoria-high-school/85633"}
