It's being used as a tool for students to exert energy and return to a calm, focused state. We've already seen several students make incredible progress in developing self-regulation skills, which has had a direct impact on their ability to complete classroom work. One student who previously shut down during challenging moments is now independently asking for breaks before becoming overwhelmed. Watching students grow in this way has been both powerful and rewarding.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were thrilled. Their excitement was immediate as they eagerly explored the new tools and activities. It was clear from the start that this space would become a meaningful and positive part of their day. The sense of curiosity and ownership they felt helped them embrace the room as a safe, supportive place where they could reset and refocus.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our goal is to continue introducing this space to new groups of students throughout Forest. We want everyone to understand that this room is for all students and can support a wide range of needs. As more students begin to use the space, we're confident it will continue to foster emotional growth, resilience, and a greater sense of independence in their learning journeys.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous support in making this space a reality. Your contribution is already making a real difference in the lives of our students, and we're so grateful to have you as part of our community.","fullyFundedDate":1745423008349,"projectUrl":"project/calm-minds-bright-futures-sensory-tool/9162765/","projectTitle":"Calm Minds, Bright Futures: Sensory Tools for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tracy Distel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9915159"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75611","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":464,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":35,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.0,"schoolId":75611,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Forest Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Forest Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/robbinsdale-area-schools/forest-elementary-school/75611"}
