Graphic novels are very popular with all ages of students right now. My 5th graders are no exception. With many students in my class reading below grade level, it is a challenge to get some to read. Graphic novels provide a way for students to read for enjoyment no matter what their reading level. These new books will help all readers in my class become more confident in their reading. As a teacher, I love to promote books to my students to read. Every time a new graphic novel is purchased for our class library, there is a long list of students who want to read it. Our class library has many books, but not a lot of graphic novels. Having more of these books will help to ensure that each child who wants to read a graphic novel will have a variety of books to choose from.
