I would love to add some STEM materials and other creative building kits to our classroom to use as morning tubs during breakfast, activities for indoor recess, and for creative play during Fun Friday time. I currently have some old wooden blocks and some Duplo blocks but want to offer them more options.
I want to give my students the chance to think creatively, explore hands-on building, and the opportunity to work cooperatively with other students.
The ZOOB Builderz kit includes gears, axles, and joints that snap together. With rotating and extendable parts, kids can actually design a toy to play with, instead of just building something to look at. The Geo Building starter set will help students develop their problem solving skills and creativity. Not only will the kids be having fun building two- and three-dimensional structures, but they will also be working on math standards while having fun! All of the items on my wish list allow students to continue developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, use their imagination to create without instructions, and the chance to build social skills while working with their peers.
