Thanks to your kindness, my students now have durable, beautiful book bags that they can use to carry the books of their choice throughout the school day. While a book bag might seem like a simple item, in our classroom it represents so much more: independence, responsibility, and the joy of learning on their own terms.\r\n\r\nBefore these book bags arrived, my students often struggled with how to keep their books organized or how to carry them from one part of the room to another. They love to read in different places—sometimes at their desks, sometimes on the carpet, sometimes tucked into a cozy corner. Without a bag, the books would slip from their arms, pile up on tables, or get lost in the shuffle. Now, with their new book bags, every student has a personal and practical way to manage their reading materials. They can choose their books, tuck them neatly into their bag, and carry them with ease. This freedom has already created a noticeable change in the way they approach reading time.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful things about these book bags is the sense of ownership they create. Each child has a designated place to keep their chosen books, which makes the reading experience feel more personal and special. My students beam with pride when they select their stories for the day and place them into their bags. It might seem like a small action, but it builds responsibility and helps them feel like true readers. They are in charge of their own learning, and that confidence is priceless.\r\n\r\nI have already seen a difference in their motivation. Because the bags make it so much easier to transport their books, students are more likely to take them to a comfortable spot in the room and actually settle in to read. Instead of wasting time figuring out how to carry a stack of books, they are diving straight into the pages of a story. Some students even carry their book bags with them like a treasured possession, checking throughout the day to make sure their favorite stories are still safely tucked inside. This kind of excitement and engagement is exactly what every teacher hopes to inspire.\r\n\r\nBeyond convenience, these book bags are also helping to build a stronger classroom community. Students love to peek into each other's bags and talk about the different titles their classmates have chosen. They recommend books to one another and share their excitement about stories they've discovered. In this way, the bags are not only tools for organization but also sparks for conversation, friendship, and a culture of reading.\r\n\r\nNone of this would have been possible without your generosity. Your donation provided more than just a set of book bags—it provided opportunities, confidence, and joy for every student in my room. You have helped make reading more accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for children who are still discovering the lifelong power of books. Please know that your support will continue to have an impact day after day, as my students carry their books, their stories, and their growing love of reading with them everywhere they go.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of myself and my students, thank you for believing in our classroom and for giving us this gift. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and excited to continue learning with the tools you have made possible.","fullyFundedDate":1746534640077,"projectUrl":"project/share-our-love-of-reading/9288535/","projectTitle":"Share Our Love of Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lebit","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9588387"},{"teacherId":9086429,"projectId":8673810,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your continued support of our amazing artists at Fishkill Elementary School.
