Our new band method books are beautiful, and the students are already using them. They are updated resources which contain a teacher website so I can use a backing track for the class to perform alongside, or the exercise in the book can be displayed on the board so I can refer to it in the large group setting. This is a tremendous resource for me and the students at Farnsley. \r\n In band, we do a daily warm up, and then we move to work out of the method book. Each day we break down the steps of reading music through the book. Students will clap the rhythm, sing the letter names of the notes aloud while pressing the note on their instrument, and finally attempt to play it in the full group setting. We also use the book for playing tests, so I can do individual assessments on each student and hear them perform the line by themself. \r\n I love seeing the students take pride in their new materials.
