So many times students have a distaste for reading because they have been made to read books they are not interested in. By updating my classroom library, I am hoping to foster a love for reading in each of my students this year and for years to come. I have selected very diverse novels that will be more engaging for my at-risk was students, who typically have never found a book they like, if they have read an entire book front to back at all. Studies have proven a correlation between independent reading in class and students love for reading in the future. That love for reading is critical for success not just in English classes but all of our kids classes and their future. Please help me foster a genuine love for reading in my students!
