Having small comforts available, like the Keurig for a warm drink, has made a meaningful difference for both staff and students.\r\n\r\nI truly cannot express how much the food has meant to our middle school community. The protein bars and jerky have been especially helpful for students who may have skipped a meal or, in some cases, rely on school as their primary source of food. Being able to offer something they could eat right away—or take with them—has been incredibly impactful.\r\n\r\nBeyond meeting physical needs, these snacks have created an opportunity for connection. They've given students a reason to stop by, talk, and spend time in a safe and welcoming space.\r\n\r\nThe blankets—especially the weighted blanket—have also been a wonderful support for students with sensory needs. They've provided comfort, warmth, and a sense of calm, whether students are sitting in their chairs or just need a moment to regulate.\r\n\r\nThis experience has allowed me to better understand my students in a deeper, more meaningful way. What was provided went far beyond food—it created a safe space where students could be themselves, find comfort, and share in conversations, laughter, and sometimes even tears.\r\n\r\nI am truly grateful for this opportunity and the positive impact it has had on our students and staff. Because of you, our Autistic Support middle school students now have LED lights, string lights, books, and snacks that are helping us create cozy corners and calm minds.\r\n\r\nThe soft lighting has already made a meaningful difference. Many of our students experience sensory sensitivities, and the LED and string lights help reduce overstimulation while creating a safe, welcoming environment where they can regulate their emotions, focus, and feel at ease. These calm spaces support students during transitions, moments of stress, and independent reading or reflection time.\r\n\r\nThe books you provided are being enjoyed daily and encourage quiet engagement, self-regulation, and a love of reading. The snacks have also been incredibly helpful, supporting students who need predictable routines and helping with regulation and focus throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has directly impacted our students' ability to feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
