Your generosity put a serious collection of science books into the hands of students who truly enjoy learning from them.\r\nWhen I first created this project, I was teaching high school students and envisioned these books being used in that setting. During the school year, however, I transferred to middle school science to help fill a need in our district. As it turns out, these books found the perfect, most interested audience.\r\nMy middle school students absolutely love them. The colors, engaging pictures, and science topics immediately captivated them. Many of my students will pick up a book just because a photo or illustration catches their eye, and before long they're reading about ecosystems, cells, weather, space, or other science concepts. It's been rewarding to watch students become curious and excited about learning through reading.\r\nThese books have helped make science feel more approachable and engaging. They have sparked questions, conversations, and moments of discovery that might not have happened otherwise. For some students, they have also provided a confidence boost by showing them that science reading can be enjoyable and accessible.\r\nThank you for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1773878871888,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-science-through-reading/10076209/","projectTitle":"Exploring Science Through Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Raddi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9378014"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61526","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2307,"numTeachers":150,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.5,"schoolId":61526,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Everett High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Everett High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/everett-public-schools/everett-high-school/61526"}
