With this donation, it allowed my students experience the baby chickens more closely. My students were able to reach in and pet the chicks throughout the day. The chickens were in a safe container where the students could observe them safely. The students could interact with the chickens too. The holding tub was the perfect addition to our chicken project. \r\n \r\nThe students learned about the life cycle of a chicken. Then they watched as the chicks hatched from their eggs. Finally, the students were able to watch as they grew from the large holding tub. This would not have been as successful if I did not have the large holding tub. This container allowed learning to go beyond knowledge taught to them but became real to them. I am so grateful for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1743700379508,"projectUrl":"project/raising-chickens/9085076/","projectTitle":"Raising Chickens","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bajenaru","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6451476_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1558063937183","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6451476"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_26463","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":571,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":16,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"21.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.9,"schoolId":26463,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Etiwanda Colony Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Etiwanda Colony Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/etiwanda-school-district/etiwanda-colony-elementary-school/26463"}
