The students love them so much that they have given each one a name and take great pride in caring for them. These comforting items provide students with a sense of security and help them regulate when they need a little extra support.\r\n\r\nThe spin chair and sensory tents have also become valuable spaces for students to calm their bodies and minds when their emotions become too big. Having a safe, quiet place to reset allows them to return to learning feeling more comfortable and ready to participate.\r\n\r\nThe timers have been especially empowering. They allow students to take ownership of their plans, understand how much time they have, and make choices about how they use that time. Watching them become more independent while feeling proud and successful has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided more than just sensory tools. You have helped create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, empowered, and understood. These resources are giving my students opportunities to develop independence, confidence, and strategies they can use when they are experiencing big emotions.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping make our classroom a place where every child can feel successful. Your kindness is making a real and lasting difference in their everyday experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1778044929095,"projectUrl":"project/opportunity-to-support-students-with-soc/9999851/","projectTitle":"Opportunity to Support Students With Social, Emotional, and Sensory Needs.","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Batts","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10400149"},{"teacherId":10380215,"projectId":10021303,"letterContent":"I am speechless at your generosity! I just received our resources yesterday and could not wait to share them with our students. A 3rd grader helped me open the boxes and was just in awe as I was when I explained the Donors Choose Process. I delivered the Brown-dages band-aids to our nurse and she was so excited to give our students of color a new form of representation! Additionally, a student came in this morning cold after a week of being sick, and just needed some extra TLC so I wrapped this kindergartner in one of the soft blankets we received and it made her morning! All emotions are welcome, but how we display them is what is important! \r\nAnother book \"Plant The Seed\" is about how small gestures can have a big impact. We often talk about how just saying hello to someone new at school, can help build community and belonging.\r\n\r\nWith your donation, I already read this book to a small group of 4 students in my office during our group time.
