As a blended microsite serving students with diverse academic needs, access to the right tools makes an incredible difference. Because of your generosity, we now have a new whiteboard, a class set of mini dry erase boards with markers and erasers, and a full classroom set of calculators. These resources immediately strengthen both our direct instruction time and our small-group intervention work.\r\n\r\nIn our math classroom, students learn best when they can see the thinking and practice it themselves. The new whiteboard allows me to clearly model multi-step problem solving, vocabulary, and strategies in a way that supports visual learners and students who need concepts broken down step by step. The individual dry erase boards have transformed engagement — every student participates, every student shows their work, and I can instantly assess understanding and correct misconceptions in real time. This is especially powerful in our microsite setting where targeted feedback and immediate intervention are key.\r\n\r\nThe classroom set of calculators removes barriers and builds confidence. Many of our students come to us with gaps in foundational skills, and having consistent access allows them to focus on reasoning, application, and higher-level thinking rather than feeling stuck. Your generosity is helping create a classroom where students feel capable, supported, and willing to take academic risks. Thank you for believing in our students and for making a direct impact on their growth.","fullyFundedDate":1758832358178,"projectUrl":"project/math-on-the-move-engaging-minds-everywh/9479258/","projectTitle":"Math on the Move: Engaging Minds Everywhere","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Prather","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10084464_orig.jpg?crop=1430,1430,x4,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752877307236","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10084464"},{"teacherId":9190049,"projectId":8882745,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all of your donations. I appreciate the importance you have put on education and helping teachers and their students. Without your support our classrooms would not have the supplies and materials needed to best serve our students. \r\n Our students are able to practice skills in small groups with me and as individuals. We learn in large group and I am able to use these supplies to work with small groups and lower performing kids to help them use all types of learning to gain progress in all areas. Hands on materials are the key to learning. I have had many lower level students and putting materials that they can work on individually and in small group in their hands has made the world of difference. \r\n I plan to add more hands on materials in the future. We are using Science of reading and there are specific products that go with this program. This year students who have had minimal lab experience were able to learn about photosynthesis, cellular respiration, experience chemical reactions and dissect frogs! All of this was due to your donations of lab equipment and supplies. \r\n Students were so excited to have hands on science to truly experience. Most of these students have been schooling at home so science was very difficult. For those that had involved parents it was even a challenge due to the difficulty of getting true lab equipment and chemicals for at home use. \r\n Students observed spinach leaves photosynthesizing and were able to use glassware and practice lab safety. Students performed gel electrophoresis and were able to see DNA fragments travel through the gel. They dissected frogs and were able to use real tools like scalpels, scissors, and live specimens. Students modeled homeostasis using ring stands, beakers, thermometers and solutions. \r\nMany of these labs would not have been possible without your generous donations!
