The students modeled the digestive system out of the oil based clay. The clay which we used was an oil based and had several different colors to use. By using this clay, we did not have to worry about the clay drying out, and we could use a different color for each of the organs in the digestive system. The clay I have used in the past has not been able to use after the first class, because it was not oil based.\r\n\r\nThe student really enjoy using clay in the class. For many of them they have not had a lesson which used clay in a long time. This takes them back to their childhood. Many of them spoke of the smell and the feeling of the clay in their hands. This lesson was able to use all the senses of the students for them to be able to recall the parts of the digestive system.\r\n\r\nAfter the digestive system we learn about the different nutrient which makes up our diet and what they do for health. Many students are developing their eating patterns now, and I hope they learn good habits in this class.","fullyFundedDate":1753285779839,"projectUrl":"project/clay-to-learn-the-digestive-system/9272891/","projectTitle":"Clay to Learn the Digestive System","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Hartwick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9203846"},{"teacherId":8824706,"projectId":9480940,"letterContent":"These headphones have has an amazing impact in my classroom. Students can individually listen to speeches during class rather than having to wait until they get home. They feel confident that they are not interrupting the independent work of other student. It has become quite a fun opportunity for them when we get the headphones out, and they get to look for new material to analyze.\r\n\r\nI'm really looking forward to getting to use these with students for years come. Because of your kindness, my 11th and 12th grade special education students now have access to engaging, age-appropriate literature that sparks their curiosity and builds their confidence as readers. Many of my students struggle to find books that are both accessible and exciting—and thanks to you, we've found that perfect fit. We were also thrilled to receive the graphic novel versions of the book, which are making a huge difference, especially for our deaf student, who is now able to follow along and participate more fully in class discussions.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made a meaningful impact in our classroom. These books are not just stories—they're tools for connection, inclusion, and growth. It's incredible to watch students who once hesitated to pick up a book now eager to turn the page and talk about what happens next. Thank you for believing in our students and for giving them the chance to see themselves as readers and thinkers. The flexible seating chairs are a gift that keeps on giving in my classroom. My students are able to move freely and exert energy as needed throughout my instruction, instead of feeling trapped in a conventional chair. \r\n\r\nThis project impacted my students learning by allowing them to move freely. In my class, I try to do as much hands-on learning as possible to help accommodate learners that may not do well sitting still for long periods of time. \r\n\r\nThe first thing people notice when they walk into my classroom is the seating.
