The students will be completing a lab called Identifying an Unknown Metal Using the Ideal Gas Law and Molar Mass. By working hands-on in the laboratory it will allow students to retain the information they need to succeed in chemistry. This lab will help them understand the Ideal Gas Law! Students will be determining the identity of an unknown metal by determining its molar mass based on its reaction with hydrochloric acid and the ideal gas law. By finding out the molar mass and the reaction it has students will be able to pick from a list of unknown metals.
