We can also read them in class for choice reading, which I believe helps many kids discover the joy of reading. It gives them time away from screens! The space-themed pencils and stress balls were a hit with the kids and made the unit more fun. We also referenced our planet poster daily, such a nice visual! The nonfiction books about space helped supplement our learning and a few kids checked them out for choice reading.
