Your support provided materials to support learning in an academic support classroom. Supplies supported creative an interactive learning in science and writing.\r\n\r\nIn Science, students worked together to model and compare the life cycles of nurse logs and whale falls. The larger whiteboards allowed for team discussion, contribution, and a gallery stroll. We also witnessed the life cycle of painted lady butterflies and were able to set them free in our school garden. \r\n\r\nIn Writing, we used the watercolors and paper to add a visual element to their I Am From poems. The visual element provided an opportunity for general education and academic support students to represent themselves. With your support, we were able create grade level unity for our Field Day. Your generosity provided t-shirts and tie-dying materials for all of the fifth grade students at Emerson. Using the materials, each student was able to make their own unique t-shirt. \r\n\r\nWe presented every student with their shirt and the class \"oohed\" and \"aahed\" over each one. Every student was celebrated, regardless of their academic or skill level. Students proudly wore their t-shirts out to the field. It was easy to spot the 5th grade classes! \r\n\r\nYour support of my collaborative classroom is greatly appreciated.
