We are currently working on a unit called Protest, Power, and Change. During this unit, we learned about the history and modern lives of indigenous people in the United States. This map helps anchor our word wall to emphasize that indigenous people live throughout the United States, have many different ancestral languages, and are very diverse. This visual element is important for all learners and especially for our multilingual learners. \r\n\r\nWe are now focusing on learning about enslavement. Our world map helps us visualize the geographic elements of this period of history including the Middle Passage and Triangle Trade.
