We used these rugs every day and students loved them. The circle rug provided students with a visual of their own spaces, which was very helpful for Kindergarteners. The green fluffy rug was used as a more comfort spot for students to enjoy when overwhelmed and stressed. When young readers are excited about stories, but don't yet have all the reading skills needed to access those with advanced language, the listening center has been there to offer that bridge. \r\n\r\nI have a set of audiobooks on CD's I can use with the listening center, although the most useful way to use it has been with the Bluetooth option that allows me to play any audiobook for any book in my library. This has created a tool that gives me endless amount of reading material for my students. \r\n\r\nThank you for your donation towards our listening center! We use them constantly, not only for curriculum pages, but for real writing too. My students write notes and letters to loved ones, make cards, and leave me short messages. Many of them love art, so they draw, add labels, and write about their work, which shows pride and progress. The play dough has strengthened fine motor skills through our pinch, roll, and press routines on letter and sight word mats. Students learned to use less and work with precision, and it shows in better pencil grip and writing stamina. During small groups, the phonics cards and the Big Box of Easy to Read Sight Words help students read, copy, and write words, then connect the word to the picture. Thank you again.
