My students have really enjoyed using their new flexible seating during class time. The students are using the seating to help them focus better while learning. I am using the seating to help my students who are easily distracted and extra wiggly. I have given the students with the highest needs the wobbly stools and yoga ball chairs to provide them with an activity that engages their bodies, allowing them to focus better and learn more effectively. \r\n \r\nWhen I pulled out the yoga balls for the first time, the students were very excited and cheered. They work hard because they know they will get to use the pillows and stadium chairs if they are being great listeners and working hard. \r\n\r\nMy students are currently learning how to write sentences and what makes a sentence. Next, we will start learning how to write books that teach. Though attracting birds to them has been a little trickier, I believe we will eventually earn their trust! There are birds teasing us everywhere! A delightful surprise, however, has been the squirrels. Although our students commonly see them, it's likely none of them have ever seen one up close. Well, now they have and they have been the stars of the show. Curling up to nibble around inside the feeders has given our kids a front row seat to all of its behaviors and structures. Students are excited and giggling and curious, the way a classroom should feel and sound! \r\n\r\nIn the photos, you can clearly see the excitement on their faces.
