I have been able to do a graphic novel unit using the books I received from you. The unit had the students making comic books and learning how to make said comic books or graphic novels. We learned what speech bubbles are and that graphic novels use panels in drawing the book. \r\n Reading in my classroom takes place after the lesson . The students are then able to go get books of their choosing and sit down and read. I have been reading the Elephant and Piggy books to the younger grades and that has been a hit! The younger grades love these books.","fullyFundedDate":1744234008487,"projectUrl":"project/great-new-library-books-for-our-library/9220459/","projectTitle":"Great New Library Books for Our Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sleeter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9496432"},{"teacherId":9028117,"projectId":8961381,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our classroom has been infused with a new sense of excitement and motivation. Thanks to you, our learning space has become more vibrant, positive, and exciting. When my 5th graders first saw the materials you helped provide, their faces lit up with joy and curiosity. It was like watching a wave of energy roll through the room—students were immediately drawn to the tools and resources, eager to explore and use them. The stickers, gel pens, and class store items have completely transformed how we celebrate effort, creativity, and growth. \r\n\r\nWe've integrated these materials into our classroom reward system and daily activities. Students earn stickers and class store points for showing responsibility, kindness, and academic perseverance. The gel pens have become a favorite tool for editing and decorating final writing drafts—they love using them to add flair and personality to their work, which has made revision much more engaging. The class store, stocked with your donated items, is now a weekly highlight that motivates students to push themselves and stay focused.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our end-of-year projects, your contributions are keeping energy and enthusiasm high. Students are working on personal essays and art projects, and the gel pens and stickers have made these tasks feel extra special. Thank you for making such a joyful and lasting impact on our classroom!\r\nWe've been using the new materials daily during our literacy and math small groups. The hands-on resources have made abstract concepts more concrete and accessible. Their engagement has soared, and I've noticed even my quieter students are participating more confidently. The boost in motivation has not only enhanced academic progress but also created a more joyful and collaborative learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1742348522017,"projectUrl":"project/motivating-my-5th-graders/8961381/","projectTitle":"Motivating My 5th Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ross","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9028117"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63817","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":440,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":38,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":37.7,"schoolId":63817,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Elizabeth Wilhelm Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Elizabeth Wilhelm Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/clark-county-school-district/elizabeth-wilhelm-elementary-school/63817"}
