We use the sensory items during transitions, independent work time, and small-group instruction to help students stay calm, focused, and ready to learn. The reinforcement items are used to celebrate positive choices, task completion, and progress toward individual goals.\r\n\r\nOne special moment was watching a student who often struggles during transitions successfully move from one activity to the next while using a calming sensory tool. Another student proudly earned a preferred reinforcement after completing a challenging task independently. These moments may seem small, but they are huge victories for my students and help build confidence each day.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students are continuing to grow in communication, independence, and self-regulation. My students will be able to listen to audio on their Chromebooks without interrupting the class and without having to bring their personal ones from home back and forth to school each day. Having new colored pencils and a colored pencil sharpener will keep my new regular pencil sharpener in better shape. An abundant supply of pencils and erasers is always needed to ensure students are actually working and not trying to sharpen or locate a pencil to write with or an eraser.\r\nThe students were pleasantly surprised to see some updated materials and promised to take good care of them.
