Your generosity has had an immediate and meaningful impact on how my students prepare for the College Board Create Performance Task, one of the most important components of the AP exam.\r\n\r\nIn computer science, learning is not just about writing code on a screen—it's about planning, annotating, revising, and clearly explaining how that code works. With access to a classroom color printer, my students are now able to print their algorithms, diagrams, and code segments in color, making complex ideas easier to understand and communicate. Highlighted variables, color-coded logic, and annotated visuals allow students to better analyze their own work and make thoughtful improvements before submitting their final performance task.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the ability to present their work professionally. Many of them have never had the opportunity to print in color at school, and printing at home is simply not an option for a large number of students. Being able to hold their work in their hands, clearly organized and visually meaningful, has boosted both confidence and pride. Students are more engaged in peer reviews, more willing to revise their work, and more invested in the quality of their final submissions.\r\n\r\nThis technology has been especially impactful for students who previously struggled with organization or written explanations. Visual learners, in particular, have thrived—using color to map out program flow, identify errors, and explain their thinking more clearly. I've seen students who were once hesitant to share their work now confidently discussing their code and advocating for their design choices.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project promotes equity. By removing barriers to basic resources like printing, every student—regardless of their home circumstances—has an equal opportunity to succeed. Your support ensures that my students can showcase their computational thinking and creativity at their very best, not just for an exam, but as a foundation for future studies and careers in technology.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping them bring their ideas to life—one colorful page at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1758898807602,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-future-innovators-with-color/9692816/","projectTitle":"Empowering Future Innovators with Color Printing for the AP Exam","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sahin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2770655"},{"teacherId":8836810,"projectId":9672548,"letterContent":"On behalf of the entire Edward R. Your contribution has made a significant impact on our students, and we are thrilled to share that more than 160 participants have already experienced the benefits of this new equipment during their lessons.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our classes have been able to incorporate a variety of exercises that enhance both physical health and well-being. Students have enjoyed using the mini balls for neck release exercises, core strengthening routines, and stability exercises, all of which have helped them improve flexibility, balance, and overall fitness. The new equipment has truly elevated the quality of our lessons and enriched the experience for each participant.\r\n\r\nWe've seen firsthand how the addition of these mini balls has brought new energy to our classes. Because of your gifts, our students were able to learn new design and maker skills using the Cricut Mug Press and the sets of mugs.\r\n\r\nOver the past week, students worked in small teams to plan holiday-themed mug designs, create artwork with the Cricut software, and transfer their designs to infusible ink sheets. They practiced digital layout, measured carefully for proper placement, and observed safety and quality steps while we used the Mug Press to seal the designs. Each student then personalized a mug — adding small illustrations, or choosing colors — and reflected on what made their design meaningful in our class discussions.\r\n\r\nThis project taught technical skills (digital design, measuring, and machine operation), creativity and collaboration, and practical life skills like following multi-step procedures and checking work for quality. The new storage bins have already made a tremendous difference in our classroom.
