My students come from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds and vary widely in socio-economic statuses, however, more than three-quarters of them are from low-income households. They are respectful, friendly, and are interested in succeeding in life. Many of them live in small apartments and neighborhoods that lack resources, making it is difficult to find space/locations to study and do homework. The study lounge, including book cases, couches, mobile white boards and common round tables will provide them the space and ambiance they need to mindfully engage in their academics, increasing their abilities and skills to think critically and analytically.
