The items we've received will make a meaningful difference in meeting both the academic and sensory needs of our students.\r\n\r\nWhen it rains or when our scholars need additional vestibular or sensory input to help regulate their bodies and emotions, the trampoline, weighted animals, chew necklaces, and playdoh will offer valuable tools for self-regulation. These materials help students refocus and reengage in learning after taking time to meet their sensory needs in a safe and supportive way.\r\n\r\nWe also incorporate art projects on Fridays, giving students creative outlets to express themselves and build fine motor skills. The glue sticks, crayons, contact paper, and binder clips will support these projects and help us proudly display student artwork in the hallway—celebrating their efforts and fostering a sense of pride and community.\r\n\r\nDuring choice time centers, once skill work has been completed, the Montessori toys will provide engaging, hands-on learning opportunities that promote independence, problem-solving, and social interaction.\r\n\r\nFinally, the storage cart will help us keep recess materials—such as balls, jump ropes, and chalk—organized and mobile, making it easier to access and care for our shared equipment.\r\n\r\nEach of these items plays a role in supporting our students' social-emotional, sensory, and academic development. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and partnership in creating an inclusive, engaging, and well-rounded learning environment for our scholars.","fullyFundedDate":1756387067979,"projectUrl":"project/preschool-special-need-scholars-starting/9594575/","projectTitle":"Preschool Special Need Scholars Starting The Year Off With Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Weaver","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3664743_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y232&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1665770626038","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ciarra-weaver"},{"teacherId":3664743,"projectId":9179153,"letterContent":"Our scholars are able to use the sensory sand and play doh during rainy day recess and fun Friday as stations. I have many students who come in hungry and that food is a trigger and barrier to learning. Being able to provide my students with a healthy snack each day that they need it has had a huge impact in my classroom. Students know that during snack time, they will have one, whether they brought one from home or saved one from breakfast or get one from the snack drawer. I have had less meltdowns and students come in for snack time confident that they will be cared for.\r\n\r\nHunger is a basic need for all humans, and when we are hungry, we do not perform at our best or even at our baseline-we are in need of food.
