Having a reliable power source in the classroom has completely changed the energy of our learning environment.\r\nHow we are using the new resources:\r\nThese chargers have become the \"heartbeat\" of our daily tech integration. Recently, we used them during Nonfiction Friday, where students read nonfiction pieces and write responses on their iPads. Before your gift, we often had students receiving 0% on the assignment due to dead batteries, causing a lot of frustration. Now, students simply plug in and keep their momentum going. One specific moment that stood out was seeing a group of students huddled around a charging station, collaborating on a constructed response without a single worry about their devices dying before they could \"run\" their code.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new charging cables attached to our charging dock, there was a collective sigh of relief! They were so impressed that people they hadn't even met cared enough to make sure they had the tools they needed to succeed. It made them feel like their education is truly valued.\r\nNow that we are \"fully powered,\" our next big step is diving into the Keystone exams. While they may not notice there is something new and exciting to decorate the room, they often ask where school supplies and/or food come from. \r\n\r\nFor example, there is one student who comes to mind. He is a bright young man who comes to class hungry on most occasions. At the end of almost every class, he asks if I have anything for him to eat because he didn't get a chance to eat lunch. Luckily, I'm able to provide him with food to ensure he comes to the learning environment ready to participate and be actively engaged. Likewise, when students forget their lunch but have after-school sports at the end of their day, I have something to give them to sustain themselves. \r\n\r\nThank you, again, for allowing me to help these kids directly in a way that matters immediately.
