Many of my students use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices, and these books allow them to answer questions, describe characters, retell stories, and share their ideas in ways that were not possible before.\r\n\r\nOur students are building important literacy skills such as vocabulary, comprehension, sequencing, and answering WH questions while learning that reading is interactive and enjoyable. Reading in our classroom includes adapted books, picture supports, hands-on activities, and communication devices so every student can participate at their own level.\r\n\r\nOne of the greatest joys has been watching students independently explore books, communicate about what they are reading, and become excited to participate in story time. Because of your generosity, every student has access to books that support both literacy and communication, helping them grow as readers and confident communicators.
