This project has had such a wonderful impact on my students and our classroom. \r\nThe social/emotional learning books have been so helpful in teaching big feelings. In kindergarten, many students are still learning to manage their emotions. These books help my students learn that what they are feeling is normal, and that there are different things they can do to help manage those feelings. \r\n\r\nThe whiteboard has helped learning become mobile! The students are not stuck at their desks, looking up at the big board on the wall. I am able to take this whiteboard anywhere, and mix up our learning experiences. It's big enough for everyone to see, yet small enough to easily move around the room. \r\n\r\nThe toys are definitely the favorite! We are using the new science materials for hands‑on inquiry lessons and small‑group experiments that let students practice asking questions, designing investigations, and analyzing data. For example, students modeled lunar and solar eclipses using Styrofoam balls and a lamp to represent the Earth, Moon, and Sun; by rotating and aligning the spheres they could see shadows and phases directly, which helped solidify their understanding and allowed them to grasp the concept more clearly because they could observe it visually.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived the room buzzed with excitement. They were excited to try the materials and model the phenomena themselves, and they were particularly thrilled about the Play‑Doh, using it to build and demonstrate their ideas and thinking visually. They immediately started to investigate the lunar moon phases in small groups, took turns manipulating the models to test their ideas, and sketched initial observations. Next, students will continue using these materials to investigate science topics like heat transfer and how energy affects matter; they will use these materials to complete short experiments, build models, record observations, and collect and graph data. Your support has turned abstract concepts into memorable, student‑led exploration and has strengthened collaboration, curiosity, and scientific thinking. My students' eyes lit up as we unboxed each item, and they couldn't wait to explore the new tools. The weighted stuffed animal was an instant favorite—one student hugged it tightly and said, \"It makes me feel calm.\" The light projector, blankets, and rain sound tubes have quickly become part of our calming corner, creating a peaceful space where students can reset and return to learning with focus.\r\n\r\nWe've already used the lap desks so many different times. During small group and whole group, I have found that my students love having the choice to sit comfortably while still engaging in their work. The fidgets and light have been especially helpful during transitions and lessons that require focus. One moment that stood out was during writing time: a student who usually struggles to stay engaged was able to use a fidget to stay regulated, and they proudly completed their work from start to finish.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students now have a classroom that supports not just their academic growth, but their emotional and sensory needs too. The next step for us is incorporating these tools into our daily routines and upcoming projects, like our social-emotional learning lessons where students practice self-regulation strategies. Thanks to you, my students now have access to engaging math manipulatives and dry erase markers that are already making a huge impact on their learning! \r\n\r\nMy students really enjoy the math manipulatives, especially the magnetic pattern blocks. They used them to model ratios and fractions. For example, they would show the ratio of triangles to hexagons was 6 to 1 or that one triangle was 1/6 of the hexagon. It has strengthened their understanding of fractions, ratios, and shapes. They have also been thrilled to work with the magnetic coordinate grids, allowing them to grasp graphing concepts and expressions in a hands-on way. These tools have transformed abstract math concepts into tangible, interactive learning experiences that build confidence and enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nThe dry erase markers have also been a game changer!
